Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
Your California privacy rights, and how Modality handles personal information. Last updated August 2026.
Modality does not sell or share your personal information
The California Consumer Privacy Act ("CCPA," as amended by the CPRA) gives California residents the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of their personal information. Modality does not sell personal information for money, and we do not share it with third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising. Because we do not sell or share personal information, there is nothing you need to opt out of.
Cookies on our website
Some companies' use of advertising cookies can count as a "sale" or "sharing" under the CCPA even when no money changes hands. Modality's website and application use only cookies that are necessary for the site to function, such as keeping you signed in. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking cookies. If that ever changes, we will update this page and provide an opt-out tool before doing so.
Sensitive personal information
California law also gives you the right to limit the use of sensitive personal information. Modality collects sensitive personal information only as needed to provide the Services, and does not use or disclose it for purposes that would require a "Limit the Use of My Sensitive Personal Information" option. If that ever changes, we will update this page and provide that option before doing so.
Patient data
Health information entered into the Modality platform by healthcare organizations is Protected Health Information governed by HIPAA and our Business Associate Agreements. It is never sold, and it is never shared for advertising purposes. OurTerms of Servicedescribe how limited, de-identified data may be used to improve the platform.
Your California privacy rights
If you are a California resident, you have the right to:
- Know what personal information we collect about you and how it is used
- Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Request that we correct inaccurate personal information
- Request that we delete your personal information, subject to legal exceptions
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do neither)
- Limit the use of sensitive personal information
- Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights
How to exercise your rights
Submit a request through our contact form and we will respond within the timeframe required by law. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request. You may also use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf; we will ask the agent for proof of authorization. If your personal information was entered into the platform by a healthcare organization, we may refer your request to that organization as required by HIPAA.
